9. We can’t make everyone happy

Everyone has an opinion and a suggestion to offer for another individual. At times, what we think the best choice for us would not be as satisfactory for others. Our family, friends, colleagues may be apprehensive about our choices and path. They might disagree and sometimes they may be genuinely worried too. It is sometimes difficult to make them understand. If you have faith in your choices then you don’t have to worry if not everyone is content. And when your choices prove your faith then ultimately everyone would be happy. If still, people have qualms, then you can’t make everyone happy and have to listen to your heart.

10. It’s never late

There would be never late to listen to your heart, follow your dreams, convey your feelings, and fulfilling your desires. If you feel worried about people judging you then for a moment just think for once that “are their judgments above your desires?” I am sure that you don’t have to think much ahead. It’s never late and nobody can decide the expiration of your desire by your age number. Dreams have no expiration date.

11. Mistakes are part of life

It happens. We all do make mistakes and we all have the right to be forgotten and move ahead. We have to admit that mistakes are a part of life and we don’t have to carry their guilt on our shoulders all the time.

12. Past is not taking us anywhere

We don’t have the power to change the past but the only thing we can do is to learn from our mistakes. Dwelling on the past and feeling victimized won’t make any difference to either present or future. Certain life events do bring a pause in our life but we have to move on. We have to admit that the past is not taking us anywhere and we do have to resume our lives and have to think of the future.

13. We have to own it

We all want to follow our hearts and we all want to make a choice. When we make a choice then we do have to admit that whatever life offers us in return is by the choices we made. We have to own it.

We know people who achieved success and changed their circumstances against all odds. There are many who are full of dreams and passions who fails. We only know about the failure of the people who failed but we never thought that why they might have failed. There are 13 reasons why people fail.

1. Lack of persistence/Quit

Many times, we wish for things but it takes a lot of hard work and effort to achieve them. Most people either quit too early or are not persistent towards their goal. When we don’t take daily steps, timely evaluation of our efforts, overcoming the barriers, we can’t succeed. When we are not persistent towards our goal, we fail.

2. Lack of conviction

We have a strong desire at first but slowly when it demands effort and commitment from our side, we keep on hiding from it and involve in other things. No matter if your efforts are giving results or not but at the least you should attempt. You should believe in your dreams and yourself first. Being sceptical at the very beginning and not even making attempts shows that you yourself are not convinced in your dreams and ultimately results in failure.

3. Excuses

Most people are always under the shield of excuses. They have excuses for everything. We can either keep success or excuses. Everyone has their part of the struggle but overcoming them is where success comes and sticking to excuses where one fails.

  • I would start next month because….
  • This year I am already….
  • It is because I don’t have support and….
  • You don’t know how many things I am dealing with…
  • It’s easy for others but not me because…

4. Self-awareness/ your mistakes

The journey of success is not only about achieving our dreams. It many times teaches us great life lessons. The only thing is that we have to be self-aware and also we have to realize where we are making mistakes and corrective actions required. We have to learn from our mistakes and have to overcome them rather than getting demotivated and quit.

5. Self-esteem/ego

The fear of failure and would affect your self-esteem and ego. People fear that they would feel embarrassed if they fail and their failure would be a topic of discussion for their people. For a few, they are too proud to let someone know that they can fail and they don’t even try.

6. Fate

People overlook the hard work and effort a person has put on to become successful and just credit their fate. They are never able to see their faith in the capabilities. It’s not about fate but faith which will take one ahead. People who believe in anyone’s success or failure as an act of fate are definitely going to fail.

7. Living in THE IDEAL MYTH

When we want things too perfect and too ideal to begin. People expect and wait for the best situation and best time to begin. It is a myth to expect that when all the things would be ideal and as per us, we can begin. The people who wait for the ideal things, the ideal time and the ideal circumstances tend to fail.

8. Being too pessimistic

Sometimes we may not be completely sure that all the things that we are deciding and planning would go as we have planned. All that we forecasted would result as we have thought. It is okay to consider all the factors about the probability of the situation not working in our favour. But being too pessimistic is one thing that would lead to the person not been able to make an attempt. He would never be able to make an attempt and also it is not at all a crime to fail. Not even once, even if you fail after multiple attempts, it won’t make you a bad person. It is better to have a failed attempt than no attempt.

9. No Investment in learning and development 

People always keep the priority last and the unnecessary things on their primary list. Learning is continuous and there is always room for more development. We don’t have to be rigid and always have to be open to new ideas and methods. People who are always stuck to the traditional idea and are not open to new learning, ideas and are keen to change often fails.

10. lack of accountability

Sometimes working independent and being self-employed, we miss the accountability and waste a lot of time as we are not accountable to anyone and we don’t have to report to anyone. The pressure of completing the task and urgency is missing. If we desire something, we have to provide time for learning, allot time for working on it, setting up a list of tasks, keeping deadlines and becoming self-accountable. 

11. Circumstances

Everyone has different circumstances and all have their own struggles. We can’t claim that it is easy for others and feeling yourself victimized of all the circumstances. Till the time one has an excuse of circumstances, you can’t move ahead. There are people who have risen up fighting all the odds. 

12. Emotional barrier 

At one stage, a person struggling to achieve his dreams becomes very vulnerable. There are things that make him fear and becomes a barrier to move ahead. He lives in fear and is emotionally caught up with the fear of losing

  • What if he is not able to succeed? 
  • What if he fails and his investment of time, money, choice of discarding a safe option will lead him to a life of poverty? 
  • The guilt of not being able to live up to the expectations of the family?
  • The growing disappointment in the face of loved ones at each and every failed attempt?

13. No action

There are many people who have talent, knowledge, capability and everything that needs to convert an idea into success. One thing that is more important than everything is to take timely action and steps. There are many people with brilliant ideas and business plans but the person who takes the initiative and dares to put his plan into action gets success. Why we lie to ourselves

Sometimes it’s easy to lie to others but it’s quite difficult to make our inner self make belief in the lies we are telling ourselves. There are a few things we knew that we are lying to ourselves but we refuse to address them. Our lies may not affect anyone more than our self. There can be no one who can benefited more than ourselves if we confront the lies we are telling ourselves.

Why we lie to ourselves?

We lie to our vulnerable self to make it feel better and accommodate to the situation. Maybe because it can temporarily soothe our wounds and can relieve ourselves from the ache of failure and disappointment. We lie to reassure our shaken up faith and to conceal from the pain of failures and struggles.

The 13 lies we are telling ourselves and we know it

1. We do not know what’s wrong

For a fact, we know what’s wrong and what we have to do to make it. It is just that we find it hard or we don’t want to be getting in terms with it. If it’s about career, personal life, health, or our life goals, we know what’s wrong but we do not acknowledge our conscience. We look out for answers outside when we know what’s wrong.

2. We can hold the burden all alone of the relationship

Everyone has some point in their life where they are the only one holding the relationship. However hard we try deep inside we know that it never could be the way we want. It may be because the other person might not feel the way we feel. It’s not even wrong and we couldn’t force the other person to feel the way we want. It doesn’t let us move forward. Sometimes we have to let go and move on. It’s not about getting acknowledged but if you are holding the entire burden, it doesn’t let you move forward.

3. Waiting for the ideal

We all live in the ideal myth even when we know that there cannot be ideal situations and circumstances. Most of the time, we procrastinate, postpone, and run away from the situation claiming to wait for the ideal time but we are just lying to ourselves. The idea of Ideal time is itself a myth. We know that the right time is when we begin and there couldn’t be any ideal.

4. Our circumstances affect others

 We want people to show some empathy when we need it. We have family, friends and colleague with whom we share our problems. But the question is whether it will affect us the same way it affects us? The answer is NO. We know that our circumstances, our struggle don’t affect others. And for a fact, there is nothing wrong with it. Everyone is struggling with something or other. They can be little empathetic about our issues but if we expect them to get equally affected by all our problems then we should know that they won’t.

5. It’s because of this or them

 We all are very good at not taking responsibility for our failure and for any unfavourable event and even of our made choices. For success, a person credits himself for his hard work, persistence, and all the efforts of his and his only. But for failure, we often make fate, circumstances, and everything and everyone except ourselves in the hierarchy of the reasons for failure. When we point at someone or something for our mistakes, we know that we are lying.

6. You have a plan

We procrastinate and we keep on thinking on a lot of plans. We plan for our career, our personal goals, health goals and many things. A few of the things in our wish list is the same every year and we keep postponing it. We keep on planning it without taking any action to achieve it. We know that without making any action we cannot have it. Even the best plan or idea wouldn’t make any sense until it is put into action.

7. It is late now

It’s never too late to start something or to end something. We know that even if it’s late you are less bothered. We know that we want it as badly and as desperately we first desired. Sometimes the fear and the embarrassment we feel in front of society or from the people around us, we let go of our inner desire. But when we say it is late, we are lying. 

8. It is all fate

We held fate or destiny responsible for the things that we couldn’t achieve or get success. Even when we blame fate responsible, we somewhere know the reasons which didn’t let us succeed. And those reasons could be everything but not fate. Human beings have the tendency to pass on the responsibility of any unwarranted failures to an act of fate.

9. You don’t care

Human beings are the most vulnerable species and we do get affected easily. When we claim that we don’t care about, the fact is we do care about it. We care about the opinions and judgments of the people. We care for the acceptance and approval of the people surrounding us. When we find constant criticism and become a subject of everyone’s judgement, we find it difficult to cope up. We shield it with an “I don’t care” attitude. We claim that we don’t affect what people say or think. If we don’t get affected, it’s good but in actual everyone is affected. We lie that we don’t care when we do. It’s not wrong to get affected. The best part of getting affected is to make learning out of it and to not let the criticism dominate you. 

10. Our efforts can Change Them

We all have our own opinions, thoughts, judgments, notions, and all are backed with our own set of principles, past experiences, and mindsets. We waste a lot of our time and energy trying to make them feel the way we want. Sometimes we know that it cannot happen. We are very well aware of the people whose mindsets we cannot change and still we get upset when our opinions fail to accord.

11. We don’t expect anything

We often claim that we don’t expect anything from anyone. For a fact, we actually do. We always expect people to be happy with our happiness. We expect people to be a bit empathetic when things are not the way we want. By saying that we don’t expect anything, we try to build a shield to protect the vulnerable soul from getting hurt. It’s not bad to expect but you cannot over expect from someone. It’s not the expectation that hurts but it’s the over-expectation that makes ourselves felt a victim of every sin.

12. I Can’t

Most of the time when we say “I Can’t”, we do not mean it and we lie to ourselves. We say it because we are more affected by judgments, opinions, and the outcomes more than the desire to pursue anything. We always have an idea about our capabilities and capacity. One might not be that efficient or that good in his skills but when we say we can’t, we lie to escape from the mediocrity that has been filled in ourselves from the fear of failure.

13. Forgive and Forgiveness

Nothing is more affected than the bruised soul and we always feel someone responsible for that. We always believe that we cannot forgive someone for their deeds but we can. We always can. It gets very tough to walk with a load of grudges and enmity. At the end of the day, it is affecting ourselves more than anyone and you should better let it go. We can always forgive and move on. We lie to ourselves that we can’t but we actually can.
